Comfortis for dogs

A new oral pill for you dog that will start killing fleas within 30 min.  Give the pill with a meal once every 4 to 6 weeks to maintain prevention of fleas.  Available in many sizes according to your pets weight.  Ask for comfortis at the desk.

ProMeris for dogs 

A single spot application for control of fleas and ticks on dogs 8 weeks of age and older.  A new mode of action for controling today's flea challenges.  Coupled with amitraz; the best, topical tick killer.   Waterproof and lasting up to 6 weeks.  Available in 4 sizes for extra small, medium, large, and extra large breeds of dogs.  Not for use on cats.

Heartworm, Lyme Disease, Ehrlichiosis, and Anaplasmosis

Ticks and Tick Borne diseases are still on the rise and causing problems in dogs. To better protect our canine patients, Atlantic Veterinary Services uses the newest diagnostic testing. We offer and recommend the Cite SNAP 4DX blood test for all dogs during their annual examinations. This is a blood test performed in our hospital laboratory. We generally will have the results before the end of your visit. This test detects infection or exposure to Heartworm, Lyme Disease, Ehrlichiosis, and Anaplasmosis. We have all heard of Heartworm and Lyme disease. Ehrlichiosis and Anaplasmosis are similar to Lyme disease and are also transmitted by ticks. Early detection and treatment has already saved many dogs from these devastating diseases. Please contact our office for more information and ensure that your companion is protected.
